The basic premise of the show is following the lives of the Jonas brothers, Kevin, Joe and Nick. They are playing themselves (I assume). They go to high school like normal kids do, but they are still big rock stars. The kids they go to school with have known them for so long that most of them treat them just like normal people. They have a really good friend, Stella (Chelsea Staub). She's in charge of their wardrobe and makes some very interesting designs for them. Stella's best friend is Macy (Nicole Gale Anderson). Macy is probably the Jonas' biggest fan ever, which does make for some funny times. Now I know that these Disney shows are made for a certain demographic, but usually they're something that more than just what that group can enjoy. Having said that, there wasn't much positive I could find in Jonas: Rockin' the House in the beginning, but it did get better after the first couple of episodes. Their one saving grace is that they really can sing well. Of course, some of the songs are really more joking than anything, like the "I fell in love with the pizza girl" song, but they are amusing nonetheless.
In the very first episode of Jonas: Rockin' the House, the brothers realize that they forgot their mom's birthday, so they have nothing for her. They decide to copy all their home movies to DVD so that they'll never be lost. Instead, they accidently destroy all their home movies and have to figure out how to make it up to her. I'm really glad the rest of the episodes get better, but then I don't think you can get much worse. I really hope these guys are smarter than they appear in the first episode, because otherwise I don't know how Joe and Kevin even know how to tie their own shoes!
In the second episode Nick meets a new girl, but is it really what he expects? Apparently Nick is known for falling hard and fast for women. His brothers are trying to make sure he doesn't do that again. In the third episode, they all are in love with the pizza girl. At this point, you can tell that the episodes really don't have much to do with each other, so you can watch them in any order really. In the fourth episode, an old friend comes to visit. He's a real pain though! Will they survive his visit? Probably the funniest episode to me is the fifth one. Kevin tells Macy that she can sing backup on their next song, because she said she's pretty good and it's always been her dream to be a singer. Just wait until you hear her voice!
The DVD also includes some special features for you to enjoy. I think The best of these is the bonus episode where Stella enters a beauty pageant that the Jonas' are judging. I do find it amusing that the competition is held in an arena sponsored by dog food, just as a side note. There's also another bonus episode and a "Jo Bro'd" feature. Given that the bonus episodes were both better than the other ones, I'm really hoping that the series is getting better as it goes. If you're a huge fan of Jonas though, you're going to want this either way, as you will be getting a whole lot of Jonas!
