Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Power Squad Bod! - Calorie Blasting Dance is a workout dance made up of several of five different girls' favorite routines. It is divided up into segments from 4-8 minutes long, so if you just want to do certain segments, you can. The really nice thing is that you can choose to play them all or just a few, in any order that you want. I really liked that feature because it keeps you from feeling like you're doing the same thing over and over again!
Each of the girls runs one of the segments and then they're all put together into one big segment. Wow, if I ever thought my accent was strong, well Brittany makes me feel right at home! Each of the girls has their own personalities and own way of doing things, which does keep it more interesting.
So honestly, these dance moves aren't easy to get on the first time around. It's not like your normal aerobic videos where you repeat the same moves over and over. The problem with this is that you need to do each exercise over a couple of times to get the hang of it. At least even though you might be getting frustrated, you're still getting some exercise. They do put them all together for you too, once you're used to the routine and don't feel like doing the learning of it over again, so once you've got them down, you can just play that segment. Honestly though, it's slightly boring when you just do those 5 pieces together over and over. They're only a few minutes long total, so you're basically repeating it over and over and over. The So You Think You Can Dance Get Fit videos that I reviewed not too long ago are a lot more fun if you're looking for exercise through dance.
The bonus Ab routine in the Bonus Features is nice, as it is all done standing up. There's no lying down to do boring crunches over and over until you're just sick of them. There's also a short promotion for Bedhead products in the Bonus Features as well. Overall though, this is the shortest of the three videos and probably my least favorite. If you're looking for exercise, I would recommend the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Hard Body Boot Camp instead. The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Power Squad Bod! - Calorie Blasting Dance DVD is decent for exercise, but slightly boring after a while. I just can't see doing it over and over again.
