Monsters, Inc. is a delightful tale about what happens when the world of the monsters collides with the human world. James P. "Sulley" Sullivan (John Goodman) is the top scarer at his scare factory, Monsters, Inc. Together with his side-kick and assistant, Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal), they are a tag-team of doom for the young children they visit each night, eliciting screams of terror that can then be bottled up and used as fuel for the city of Monstropolis. Scream Energy is big business for Monstropolis, especially since they are currently in an energy crisis.

Randall Boggs (Steve Buscemi) is the #2 scream producer at the company and is always looking to get an edge over Sulley. One night, while Randall is attempting to scare up some extra screams and pad his numbers, Sulley happens upon his extra-curricular activities - a lone door from the vault of millions of childrens' doors, left out after the factory has closed for the night. What Sulley doesn't quite realize is that Randall was actually attempting to kidnap the child to whom this door belongs and endlessly extract her screams in a horrific plot to further himself at the company. What Sulley also doesn't immediately realize is that the child has hitched a ride back to Monstropolis with him!

While the little girl seems harmless to us, monsters have been taught that children are deadly and there's even an agency dedicated to decontaminating things whenever a wayward sock comes back with an unlucky monster. When Sulley accidentally lets this child into their world, all hell breaks loose and he has to call upon his buddy, Mike, to help him make things right.

Throughout this adventure, they not only figure out Randall's evil plot, but also learn that in actuality, children's laughter provides much more fuel than their screams. They both also learn that "Boo," which is what they call the tiny girl, is not deadly at all and can be someone they both love dearly. They also see the harm their scaring causes to children and determine to make things right, while ridding their community of the evils of Randall and his co-conspirators.

Seeing this film in Blu-ray is completely stunning. Sulley's blue and purple hair is something to marvel at and the crisp picture is simply breathtaking. Surround sound is superb and will envelop you in the world of Monstropolis. This release is chock full of special features that include not only a host of featurettes on everything you can imagine, but also two CG shorts, a game that will help place you in the correct position as an employee at Monsters, Inc., a really cool round table discussion with the filmmakers that is brand new and exclusive to Blu-ray, plus both a digital copy and the DVD version. There are even some hidden easter eggs to be found in the movie's menu for some added goodies.

This movie is absolutely precious. Not only are John Goodman and Billy Crystal comedy gold together, but the entire production is just a really fun movie. Don't hesitate to buy this one because it will spend plenty of time in rotation for the kiddies (and the young at heart), plus you'll have the added bonus of taking the movie on the go. Highly recommended.
