As with other tween/teen series on Disney, many of the situations depicted in Jonas deal with teenage relationships, study-induced stress and sibling rivalries. Unlike the hit series Hannah Montana, the "Lucas" brothers are not secret superstars, so they do not have the pressure of hiding their identities, but they have to deal openly with the price of fame. The seven episodes included provide a nice cross-section of the series, giving new viewers the chance to become acquainted with the characters and settings, although, to be quite honest, the most likely viewers of I Heart Jonas are going to be those that have already seen the series on television. In addition to the seven episodes, there is also a featurette called "You've Just Been JoBro'd." The featurette shows the boys as they pull off a prank on their touring act partner, Jordin Sparks. It is basically a tamer version of the MTV series Punk'd and provides a little extra entertainment for fans of both the Jonas Brothers and Jordin Sparks.
Buyers should be aware that I Heart Jonas, though part of the first season of Jonas, is NOT the complete first season. Other than the aforementioned "You've Just Been JoBro'd" featurette, the offering is lacking in the bonus features department. However, the DVD comes packaged with three magnets, each featuring one of the brothers. For true fans of the series, I would suggest foregoing this purchase in favor of getting the full season on DVD. However, as it is, it does make a great gift idea for those hard-to-shop-for tweens.
