If you remember at the end of last season, it looked like Denise's (Catherine Bell) husband Frank (Terry Serpico) cheated on her. Well, it turns out that he didn't cheat on her. They just talked, really. Back home, Denise gets fired for her actions with the patient that she started seeing, but of course he ends up leaving her that same afternoon. Since nothing is quiet on an army base, Frank and their son Jeremy (Richard Bryant) both find out about Denise. Frank is told to go home and take care of his wife. The army expects him to leave her and put it behind him for cheating on him, even though they're separated. Can he really leave her though?
Now as for my favorite character Roxy (Sally Pressman), she tries to restructure the Hump Bar, but change isn't always good. Luckily, Roxy gets some unexpected help from a new friend, Viola (Tonya Pinkins). Viola continually shocks with her knowledge of food, bars, and entertainment. Roxy also gets to meet a favorite singer of hers from years past and has the chance to help her. At home, Roxy wants to get to see Trevor more. He decides to take a desk job, as a recruiter, but does that really give him more time with his family? The family is also going to get a few surprises this season!
Pamela (Brigid Brannagh) has to deal with her little girl Katie (Chloe J. Taylor) wanting to grow up! It's always hard to be the parent of a pre-teen. With Chase (Jeremy Davidson) being gone so much as well, things are really difficult a lot of the time. I love her though. Pamela is just such a strong-willed woman. I especially love Pamela's tenacity when she can't find out where her husband is. I really think Pamela is the strongest of all of them, or at least the most self assured! She will always manage to triumph.
Joan (Wendy Davis) is being deployed, so the majority of the season with her and Roland (Sterling K. Brown) is about them learning to cope with her future deployment. Personally, I think it's heartbreaking for a new mother to have to leave her child and go overseas, but it happens every day in the army, so I like that they deal with it on the show as well.
The episode where they flash back to the 40's is quite well done. Usually I don't like those flashback type episodes as they fail to really advance the story much, but in this case it was just very interesting. Plus it was nice to see how they pictured the cast as they might have been then. I really liked what roles they chose to put them all in, especially Roland, Roxy, and Denise. There is very bad news at the end of the season. Does it mean the end of the friends?
The DVD set also has some really great special features, including Deleted Scenes, some very humorous Bloopers, and several more full features. Granted these things aren't necessary to make the DVDs worth buying, but they're really great additions that give you more of Army Wives that you did not get to see on TV!
I've been addicted to Army Wives ever since I got the first season in to review. If you've never seen it, I highly recommend you go get them all now! Army Wives: Season 4 premiers on April 11th, so you've got plenty of time to watch the first three seasons now!
