In "The Great Patty Caper," SpongeBob discovers that they have run out of Krabby Patties. When he and Mr. Krabs get confused on the order of ingredients for the new batch of patties, they go to the safe for the secret recipe. As any fan of the show would expect, this is a prime time for Plankton to steal the recipe, but again, the plot is quickly foiled. Tired of having to constantly fend off Plankton, Krabs decides to send the formula to a secure bank on the other side of the ocean.
Of course, this happens before Krabs and SpongeBob actually look at the formula and SpongeBob is sent out (with Patrick) to retrieve the formula so they can once again make Krabby Patties. Plankton stows away on the train bearing to the secret bank and when the key to the safety deposit box disappears off of SpongeBob's person, he starts doing some serious investigation into which of the train's patrons might have stolen it.
This collection also contains the segments from Season Seven's second, third and fourth episodes. In "Growth Spout," Pearl, Krabs' whale of a daughter, starts growing quickly and she is extremely hungry. After emptying his own refrigerator, Krabs starts sneaking around Bikini Bottom raiding the ice-boxes of his friends.
"Stuck in the Wringer" has SpongeBob having an accident after a shower and getting wedged into the rollers he uses to wring himself dry. Well... as dry as a sponge who lives under the sea can be anyway. When Patrick misunderstands what SpongeBob's problem is, he glues the yellow friend to the rollers and solidifies the issue. Now SpongeBob has to try and do everything, including work, with his arms pinned to his side.
"Someone's Stuck in the Kitchen with Sandy" is another scheme of Plankton's. This time, he steals Sandy's fur suit while she is in the shower, and goes parading around Bikini Bottom as the squirrel. He travels to the Krabby Patty in the Sandy Suit and does his darnedest to convince SpongeBob to reveal the secret formula to what he thinks is Sandy. Of course, when Sandy gets out of the shower, she is not happy to find her suit missing and she is bent on finding out exactly who took it and why.
In "The Inside Job," Plankton finally decides to use one of the plans that Karen (his computer-wife) suggests. She straps a device to his head that allows him to download data directly from Mr. Krabs' brain, but when a misfire puts him in the head of SpongeBob, he tries to take advantage of the mistake by taking over SpongeBob's various senses in the hopes of catching him make the patty.
In the collection's second-to-last segment, "Greasy Buffoons," Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob dump some old grease behind the Chum Bucket, and when Plankton realizes it still contains the Krabby Patty flavor, he starts drowning his own food in the grease. When Mr. Krabs realizes what is drawing his customers to his competitor, he orders SpongeBob to add extra grease to the burgers. This starts an arms-race of grease that culminates in the inevitable call to the health inspector.
The collection wraps up with "Model Sponge." Here, SpongeBob overhears part of a conversation Mr. Krabs has over the phone about letting "The Little Guy" go. Thinking that Mr. Krabs is about to fire him, SpongeBob starts looking into other career possibilities, like modeling as a kitchen sponge.
There are also three shorts that were obviously intended to promote "The Great Patty Caper." These three shorts are SpongeBob SquarePants: The Great Patty Caper's only special features, and while amusing, don't really add a lot to the overall release. Of course, the fact that the set contains a lot of SpongeBob goodness that, I believe, hasn't seen the home video market yet, means that any fan of the cartoon will probably want to pick up, or at least rent, this latest collection.
