In the first episode, Kei and Yuri get mixed up in politics. It's funny to see someone "erasing a man's past" so that he can run for president. How much does that ring true of real life in so many places. Kei doesn't care though; she just wants them off of her TV so that she can watch soaps. Her time is cut short when Yuri comes in her room and tells her that they've got to go get their paycheck fixed. Kei has to have that fixed as she's got a bit of a gambling problem and owes more than a few people! Trouble always seems to happen when the Dirty Pair are around, so of course, there is a guard killed while they're there giving them a new assignment, one that is going to make Kei earn her pay and give Yuri a challenge to get Kei out!
Even on their vacation, Kei and Yuri can't stay out of trouble. They meet an old man who's looking for them. He says that he wants to hire them as bodyguards to find the treasure of a long lost culture worth 150 million credits. Of course, they can't pass the job up after negotiating 20 percent for themselves. We've all seen treasure hunting movies and how they end up, but I'm guessing Kei and Yuri haven't. Can the Dirty Pair get out of the place alive and will they even get anything if they do? Following trend, on their day off, the gals can't get a break. To try and earn a bigger bonus, they agree to protect a chairman for the day. She's quite young as she inherited the company from her father. They essentially have to take her to the city because she wants to see it. It's not going to be as easy a task as they think though! Then in a humorous move, they send Kei undercover as a nun. I was wondering how long she could pull that one off! Yuri is the flight attendant. On this flight is a highly skilled hit man, who happens to be the only one who can now save the flight! Will he reveal himself in time? Later, these girls have a talent for destroying everything in their way, even if it's the wrong place. When they finally get the guy that they're after, will they manage to get him to the police stations safely. Things are never what they seem, so the Dirty Pair are going to have to figure out who is good and who is bad!
In another episode, Lord Reamonn is in love with a doll. When she is destroyed, the Dirty Pair are hired to find out who "killed" her. Strange, I know, but people fall in love with random things! He wants to kill them himself, so the girls are just being hired to find the culprits. Unfortunately for them, the Dirty Pair are the ones who dropped the pod that destroyed her! Their plan to get out of it is to teach Lord Reamonn to love a real woman instead. This should prove to be one of their more amusing plans by far, especially since Lord Reamonn has some severe problems with women! Next, when a flight lands but is totally empty, the Dirty Pair are hired to find out what happened to the 463 people that were supposed to be on board. The only thing that is left behind is a single doll that belongs to the daughter of the travel consultant that they are going to work with. Otherwise, even all the luggage is gone. Kei and Yuri have to figure out what happened to all 463 passengers and find them all as quickly as they can so they can finally get back to a vacation. This task is going to require a two-part episode to get to the bottom!
When they're pulled off a case because of pressure from above, the gals join forces with a con artist in a scheme that would make the Leverage crew proud. Kei better be careful though or he'll con Yuri away as well! On another day, there's a door-to-door salesman on the loose that is killing women in their condos. Kei and Yuri are stuck in a condo trying to figure out which of the many salesmen that show up on their doorstep is actually the killer! Later, when a job comes in and Yuri's out on a date, Kei says that she'll handle it alone. Gooley sends her a temporary partner, Calico. Kei isn't happy at all with his choice though! Of course, it's not always the girls in trouble. When Chief Gooley is kidnapped, they decide to rescue him even though the 3WA says not to since there's a 1% chance of success. Those are the odds that the Dirty Pair love.
That pretty much gives you an overview of the entire set. I was going to leave out the episodes that I didn't like as much, but in the end, I think that was only two. I really love Dirty Pair. They're a bit irreverent and uncouth, but a lot of fun. It's an anime that you can pick up and watch in any order (other than the one two-part episode) so it's something that you keep on hand for quick entertainment. I highly recommend you go check out Dirty Pair today!
