Corporate Cutthroat Massacre starts out with a text intro to describe the movie that you are about to watch. When the movie opens, it focuses on Brandi Babcock (Elina Madison). She bitches out a receptionist (Raye Robertson) for coming back from lunch late and shows how much of a total bitch she is when she does so. The receptionist should have just stayed at lunch and quit. On her way out the door, she is grabbed and killed by an unknown assailant. At 5 PM, Babcock tells everyone that they need to be in the conference room even though work is over. She tells them that due to the economy, two of them need to be let go. They must stay there until they turn in their last three quarterlies and client lists or they're fired. It looks like the assailant that got the once-employed receptionist will have plenty more victims tonight.

When Brandi's assistant, Shelton (Dudley Beene), brings her dinner incorrectly, she fires him for it. He confesses to Brandi that he loves her and storms out never to be seen again. While he's storming out, Rusty (Frankie Ray), the new janitor, walks in. He's part of the prisoner rehabilitation program. Not long after, the office sleaze Bryan (Chandler Maness) tries to get out of work by volunteering to sleep with Brandi, again. She says no, so he and Kim (Robbyn Leigh) disappear into the copy room for sex. While all this is going on, Beth (Sunny Doench) is drunk because she was supposed to go out and started drinking early. She figures that if she's got to be at work, she might as well be drunk. Then there's Bernie (Charlie Vaughn), the practical joker. When a hot chick shows up, we find out that he apparently ordered a stripper for Brandi. Brandi isn't into women and kicks her out, then yells at the staff for the joke. She storms off to the bathroom running into a pizza guy (Sean Mesler) on the way, so evidently there are more people in this building than we think and any of them could be the killer.

When Brandi finds the pizza laying in the hallway on her way back, she fires Bernie, but in his messed up state he tells John that he's going to stay and win her over with his reports. Personally, I'm not sure how Bernie has made it this long in sales, given how pathetic he is. After all this, we hear Brandi on the phone with her mom, but she doesn't seem like so much of a bitch anymore. I guess horrible people aren't horrible all the time.

When Beth runs out of liquor, she goes to find the janitor to see if he has any and disappears. Brandi goes out for a smoke break and the power goes out. On the way back to her office, she finds a picture collage of her and a camera that was obviously hidden in her office. About this time, John (Derek DuChesne) and Penny (Stephanie Jackson) decide to leave. They don't care if they get fired or not anymore. Will they be lucky enough to make it out alive though? Will anyone? Things aren't always what they seem to be in Corporate Cutthroat Massacre, so will you be able to figure it out in time?

Ok, bad things first. I really don't like the camera work at the beginning. That shaky cam should just never be used in movies as people really hate watching things bounce up and down and in and out of focus. I know it became popular after The Blair Witch Project, but it needs to go away. As for the good news, like Creep Creepersin's Frankenstein, I loved the sound effects in Corporate Cutthroat Massacre. They are really well done, down to the echo of footsteps and the little things like that. The lighting and makeup make Brandi look like she has no eyes, like they're black holes. I'm quite certain that was on purpose given her bitchy attitude. The details like that were very well done.

The DVD also has several special features. Don't watch the special featurette "Hostel Takeover" before the movie because it does give away who the killer is, but then that's to be expected with special features. You really don't want to watch them before the movie. "Hostel Takeover" is interesting in that it tells how the film came about. I do wish that Hostile had been spelled correctly though, as I can't see any reason to spell it Hostel. "Nightmare Jobs" is a fun interview with the cast about bad jobs that they have held in the past. Finally, you can see the entire short "The Late Shift" that inspired Corporate Cutthroat Massacre in the special features as well. It's a pretty long "short" at just under 16 minutes.

Corporate Cutthroat Massacre starts out a bit slow, but it does pick up before too long. If you're looking for a slasher that also has a hint of mystery, check out Corporate Cutthroat Massacre.
