Warwick somehow knew that John was lying and drugged his wine. John wakes up at the beginning of the dinner party to a whole new nightmare. He's tied up to a chair and there is no one there who has any interest at all in helping him out of his situation. From this point on, John has until daylight to try and manage to escape this mad house before he ends up a victim. While all this is going on, Detective Morton (Nathaniel Parker) and Detective Valdez (Joseph Will) are looking for John as well. There is so much more to the story though. No one at the house is anything near your initial impression. Of course, we know that John is the bad guy because he robbed a bank. We also know that Warwick is a victim because a bank robber has forced his way into his house. I really wish I could tell you more from here, but honestly you just have to watch The Perfect Host to find out who is really who, what is going on, where they'll all end up, and why all of it happened in the first place! If I say anything else, it'll ruin your perfect experience.
I can mention the technical aspects without ruining the movie though. Visually there aren't explosions and such to make the Blu-ray details obvious most of the time as the movie is more psychological terror than physical. However, at times, you can sit back and appreciate how beautiful it is, such as Warwick's house, decorations and pool. Warwick is very particular about the cleanliness of his house, even stopping to clean up in the middle of the party. I love his house. It is just beautiful and you can see every little detail of the paintings and artwork. The sound quality is most obvious during the party as sometimes the music is loud and suddenly turned off and you can almost hear a pin drop, just so that you can easily hear a conversation. The Blu-ray qualities definitely made even a psychological movie a lot more entertaining. Also on the disc are a few special features that give you a bit more information about how The Perfect Host evolved from a short film to a full-length feature film.
The Perfect Host is probably the most entertaining movie that I have seen in a very long time. It is now on my favorite movies list. It starts off with some twists, throws in some more twists and a bit of betrayal, stirs it all up and ends up with the perfect movie! I highly recommend everyone watch it today!
