While they do finally meet up with their old teammate, what they don't realize is that he seems to have changed since gaining possession of the sword. He is in the middle of a fight with Ronan the Accuser (Micahel Dorn, Worf from Star Trek: The Next Generation), and the Squaddies don't realize that Ronan is actually the good guy in the fight. While he helps them in their mission, it becomes obvious that he might return later, and possibly as a villain.
Thanos shows up in the second episode of Volume 2 when he uses the Mind Stone to control Hulk while the green hero is asleep. In order to fight Thanos, the Squaddies must travel to the dream world, and Thor, Wolverine and Iron Man enlist the help of Nightmare (The Big Bang Theorey's Jim Parsons). Meanwhile, the Scarlet Witch and Falcon have to work on keeping The Hulk under control, but when he messes with The Thing's girlfriend's art show, a fight between the two strong fighters becomes unavoidable.
In "Lo, How The Mighty Hath Abdicated!," Enchantress makes Odin fall in love with her and marry her in an attempt to rule Asgard. What she doesn't realize, and Loki is quick to point out, is the fact that, by marrying a commoner, Odin renounces his thrown and Thor takes over as the lord of Asgard.
Iron Man and Thor ask for help from Hercules and She-Hulk (Katee Sackhoff, Battlestar Galactica) as they travel in space to spoil another of Thanos' schemes. This time, the evil-doer is after the Power Stone, which is in the possession of the Nova Corp. Not only do the Squaddies have to find and save the gem, but also Nova himself.
In "Too Many Wolverines," Egghead decides to clone Wolverine, but none of them come out quite right. As the city is flooded by variations of the Canadian superhero, the real Wolverine, Reptil and a new hero, Firestar (a classmate of Reptil) find Egghead's lair and attempt to stop the evil plans. Funnily enough, this episode makes a reference to the 1980's cartoon, Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends which featured Firestar as one of Peter Parker's college roommates.
In The Super Hero Squad Show: The Infinity Gauntlet Volume 2's final episode, Dr. Doom decides to return to his home in Latveria. Imagine his surprise when he finds out his mother has turned his castle into a luxury spa. It turns out, she has managed to brainwash Chthon (Mark Hamill), her former guard, and decided to change Latveria for her own purposes. When the Squaddies find out that Ms. Marvel is at the spa and doesn't want to leave, they follow her there and end up getting stuck in the luxurious treatments as well.
Overall, The Super Hero Squad Show: The Infinity Gauntlet Volume 2 is another fun and funny collection of episodes that kids, and most parents, should enjoy watching. There are enough funny gags to make the younger viewers laugh out-loud, and a few other jokes geared towards the older fans of the show.
