In Silent Night, Zombie Night, Frank and Nash are cops and partners, and were friends. Thanks to recent changes though, they're no longer friends and Frank has requested a transfer so they won't have to be partners either. As if things weren't bad enough, Frank's wife is leaving him as well (although he doesn't know it quite yet), all the week before Christmas. The world is about to change though. An outbreak of zombies has hit Los Angeles and if any of them are to survive, they're going to have to work together.

Since Frank and Nash are police officers, they're already armed. Frank has to shoot a zombie to keep one off of Nash and one of Nash's toes is shot off in the process. They get to Nash's house where Frank's wife, Sarah, was waiting and find that she is ok and hasn't been bitten. The first thing on the agenda is to fix Nash's toe. After that, Frank goes back to the cruiser and tries to find out how bad the situation really is. When he can't get anyone on the radio, he knows that it's not good, but he doesn't realize how bad until he shoots one zombie and 20 more start chasing him. Now the three of them are trapped together in the worst nightmare imaginable, both because of the zombies and the romantic triangle. When Frank realizes that Sarah has a bag with her at Nash's house, she confesses that she's planning to leave him. Frank is a total ass, but you know, I think that I would be too in his situation. He decides to spend his time watching what is happening in the city and studying the monsters.

Frank really wants to help with the people that he sees outside, but there's nothing that he can do. His wife convinces him to stay inside by sleeping with him on the floor of the living room while Nash is still passed out in the bed. Obviously, Sarah still loves her husband but also cares about Nash. Maybe this situation, the friendship and the marriage can be saved, if they can survive. They're not going to be able to do anything without supplies, so Frank goes out alone at night to see what he can find. While he's gone, Nash finally wakes up. When he gets back, he tells Sarah and Nash that he figured out that some of the zombies, the slow ones, track by scent at night, so if they mask their scent, they can go out zombie hunting. I'm not sure I'll ever hear "Take me out to the ballgame" the same way again after watching Frank's night time baseball with the zombies. While Frank is out playing with the zombies, Sarah and Nash get drunk together, which is really not a good idea given the zombies and the romantic situation. Nash confesses his feelings for Sarah to her.

While on his roaming, Frank finds Jeffrey and his son in the attic of Jeffrey's house. He's still working on figuring out how the zombies work and what is going on so that he can best figure out how to survive. He already knows how to deal with the slow zombies, but the fast ones are the dangerous ones. His game of cat and mouse is very dangerous though. Is anyone going to be left alive for Christmas this year?

Silent Night, Zombie Night is available on both Blu-ray and DVD. As far as I can tell though, there really isn't anything special about the Blu-ray version to make it an improvement over the DVD. There are no extra special features (or any at all on either version). The picture quality and the sound is good, but not any better than a DVD, so this is one of those movies that you will be just fine with a DVD unless you're stuck on having everything in Blu-ray.

Silent Night, Zombie Night is a very interesting horror movie in that it is not so much about the zombies as it is about the human relations and the love triangle. If you're looking for a zombie movie that is about more than just the zombies, check out Silent Night, Zombie Night today!
