My favorite episodes almost always center around Roger and this season is no different. There's one where Roger poses as Steve's cousin, Jenny, and she and Snot fall in love with each other. This can't end well... Another pits Stan against Roger when Stan gets called for jury duty and the case is against Roger, or as he is calling himself, Martin Sugar. In another episode, Stan longs to recreate his favorite childhood restaurant and call it Stan's Food Restaurant, serving anything from chocolate-covered hot dogs to edible plates. When Roger decides to partner up with Stan, only to steal his financing and open his own place, the sparks fly.
Yet another episode finds Stan and Frannie feeling a bit old and searching for a couple that they can hang out with. When they pair up with a couple of 30-somethings, they find it difficult to keep up and decide to bring that couple down to Earth with a bit of sabotage. Stan and Frannie also find themselves at odds when they decide to remodel their kitchen and they can't agree. The only solution seems to be a cement wall running the length of their home with each side decorated to taste.
The funniest episode is also one of the last in the season and it's done in the style of The Office. Stan thinks flirting at the office is just fine and so does everyone else, that is, until Frannie comes to work as the receptionist and finds out that two can play that game. The results are disastrous and hilarious!
Special features include deleted scenes for most every episode, plus audio commentary on select episodes, as well as a featurette on why everyone loves Patrick Stewart (who doesn't, right?) and one on American Dad at their roundtable at Comic-Con 2010.
Overall, this is one more fantastic addition to the American Dad! collection and if you've been following the show, you don't want to miss this volume. While there is a little bit too much animal killing for my taste in this season, the episodes are still really, really funny. I will place this one caveat on the volume - it is uncensored and they take every advantage of the fact, from lots of extra foul language to even a frontal shot of Stan peeking out of his pajamas ((shudder)). You have been warned.
