The Super Hero Squad Show: The Infinity Gauntlet! Season 2, Volume 4 starts off where the previous volume ended, and wraps up not only the second season of the show and Infinity Gauntlet story, but the series as a whole.

When we last left the squaddies, the Silver Surfer was able to get Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet, and all of the Infinity Gems, away from the super villain, but when that power was combined with the Infinity Sword, it turned Silver Surfer into the Dark Surfer and he banished the Super Hero Squad to other dimensions. Oh and he decided to knock the Earth out of its orbit, so not only do the remaining heroes have to bring back the Squad, but they have to somehow keep the Earth warm until they can fix all the trouble that the Dark Surfer is causing.

That first task has Ms. Marvel and Mr. Fantastic trying to fix a device in the Savage Land that will hopefully bring their friends back, but when some HYDRA agents show up, it will take Captain America and Ka-Zar's help to let Mr. Fantastic do what needs to be done.

Unfortunately, even with the team back together, the good guys are hard pressed to find a way to stop the Dark Surfer, return the Universe to the way it is supposed to be, and get their friend back. This is all made more difficult when characters like Impossible Man show up to distract the group, not to mention having some of the squaddies turned into babies.

The Super Hero Squad Show: The Infinity Gauntlet! Season 2, Volume 4 comes with a series of shorts taken from the "Super Heroes: What The .. ?!" series. This particular trio of episodes is a spoof of the Avengers vs. X-Men comic book storyline going on. In these episodes, a slighted Wolverine decides to play some pranks on the X-Men and the Avengers (leading each to believe the other is responsible), and as they gags escalate, so does each team's anger. What results is a massive fight between the two superhero teams, though not exactly the same fight found in the comics. For those that haven't seen these webisodes before, they are done in a Robot Chicken style with stop-action action figures.

The Super Hero Squad Show has been a fun ride from start to end, so it's a shame to see it go, but it went on for two seasons and it had a nice, solid overall story arc that works really well. If you haven't been getting the DVDs, but love the show, then I would pick up the season-releases, or even, if it happens, a complete season version. But if you, like me, have been getting the DVDs as they've been released, then The Super Hero Squad Show: The Infinity Gauntlet! Season 2, Volume 4 is a must have.
