Oblina, Ickis, and Krumm are back in Aaahh!!! Real Monsters: Season Three. If you’ve seen the previous seasons, then you will remember that this trio are all students at the Monster Academy located in the city dump. They never really specify what city, but it is a very large city. They can get anywhere in the city through the sewer system; they just access it from the dump and come up through the toilets. Their teacher is a monster named Gromble. He’s quite an interesting character with many different sides. Although he acts like he hates the students, as the series has developed, he’s really come around to them.

This season, the 13 episode collection covers quite a lot of situations as each episode has 2 different pieces. The season starts off with a festival, the "Festival of the Festering Moon." All of the students are going to be shedding their skin now. The catch is that the last student to shed has to leave the academy forever. They can tell they’re shedding, because they start twitching all over. Ickis is worried that he’s going to be the last one because he’s the only one he knows not twitching; and he really doesn’t want to be forced to leave! Sometimes things aren’t always as they seem and in this series, they usually aren’t what you expect. Another episode that I like is "I Heard the Snorch Call My Name." As you might remember, Snorch always has Zimble with him to talk for him. The Snorch doesn’t speak intelligibly (much like a Jay and Silent Bob combination). He goes to the doc, who implants a "Translator 3000." It turns out that Snorch is quite intelligent; plus, he has eyes for Oblina. Since she is intelligent as well, they have wonderful conversations and seem like such a perfect match. Zimble proposes to Krumm and Ickis to team up and split them up so they get their respective friends back. Can these lovers last? Of course, since each episode is really independent of each other, the result doesn’t really matter.

Other episodes this season include dealing with Simon again when he bugs Krumm, several of Krumm’s body parts have an episode dedicated to them as does Oblina’s brain, and technology even makes an impact on the monsters. The trio will also have to learn how to babysit for the Gromble’s nephew. They’re also going to have to help the Gromble out when he loses his job over some obscure rule. When a new student comes to school, Ickis is paired with him for a "pair scare." Ickis assumes that he doesn’t know what to do, but he really should just stop and listen to Skrink for a minute and learn what his talents are. These monsters are very active and have to deal with a lot of stuff in Season 3.

I think that I liked Ahh!!! Real Monsters: Season 2 a bit better than Season Three, but I still really enjoy Season Three. If you’re looking for a quirky cartoon that you can watch with kids (and adults) of any age, check out Aaahh!!! Real Monsters: Season Three today!
