Gossip Girl: The Complete Series is a love letter to New York with a special introduction to the magic of Manhattan. As a matter of fact, the Mayor of New York City proclaimed January 26, 2010 as Gossip Girl Day. Also, there are Gossip Girl tours that take visitors to all of GG's favorite haunts. The show is based on Alloy Entertainment's book series, and is a chaotic teenage drama about the hopes, dreams and schemes of New York City's pretentious and privileged Upper East Sider teens. Gossip Girl's scandalous tele-tattling unforgivingly exposes the secrets and sins of their reckless passions. It's rumored that you're no one until you've been revealed by one of GG's texts... "You know you love me. XOXO Gossip Girl!"

Gossip Girl: The Complete Series focuses on two families: the van der Woodsen's and the Waldorf's. The "It Girl," Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) are two senior classmates and best friends (or BFFs) attending the elite Constance Billard - St. Jude's School in NYC. The story portrays teen trendsetter Blair as a demanding control freak who relegates and delegates to her servile minions; whereas, Serena is rather laid-back and casually yields to reckless spontaneity. The girls are non-judgmental confidantes, but can become rivals when love prances down NYC's hot pavement. The love interests center mostly on Serena and Blair's partners. Blair's lifetime plan was to marry handsome Nate Archibald (Chance Crawford), but that goal was abandoned when love interest bad-boy Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) came into the picture. Meanwhile, Serena claims "Lonely Boy" writer Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) is her one true love.

The series is complete glitter and glitz and keeps you reeling with all the wonderful designs, patterns, fabrics and couture. Designer Eric Daman completes each character with their wardrobe as he showcases collectibles like Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Dior, and oh so much more! Lily van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford) is absolutely breathtaking as she elegantly perfects any design she wears. Daman says Kate Moss inspired his casual chic designs for Serena, and Blair's wardrobe was Old Hollywood and particularly inspired by Breakfast at Tiffany's Audrey Hepburn.

Gossip Girl author, Cecily von Ziegesar, together with executive co-creators/producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage began to expand the publishing phenomenon book into a television teen drama about wealthy New York teens from Manhattan's Upper East Side.

Gossip Girl: The Complete Series is jam-packed with features. However, if you purchased the series individually, you will already have all of the extras, since no additional features were added to this six-season set. Throughout the series, you will find plenty of gag reels, unaired scenes and featurettes covering just about anything you'd want to see, as well as several downloadable audio books from the series. Each season also has an illustrated booklet with lots of photos outlining episodes and features.

The Season Six finale exposes Gossip Girl's identity, unites lovers in marriage, has one last glamorous party and wraps up six years of scandalous, sexy shows featuring the beloved Upper East Siders and their families. Cast and crew express memories, fond goodbyes, and heartfelt comments about their successful and seductive series in "A Big Farewell to Our Upper East Siders." "Gossip Girl Series Retrospective" talk about the cast, their auditions and characters and how the show has become an open love letter to the city of New York. Also included is the Audiobook Download: "Gossip Girl Prequel: It Had to be You."

Music from Gossip Girl: The Complete Series is high powered with guest appearances by Sonic Youth, Cyndi Lauper, and Adele, to only name a few. The writing is brilliant, the cast superb, and the angst unpredictable, but the show is enchanting and addictive.

The Boston Herald said that Gossip Girl was a parent's worse nightmare; and that is so true. This series will cover the most unimaginable immorality that any parent would fear might influence their teen, including alcohol, language, sex, and anything from pills to heroin – definitely adult content with teenage attitude. But, that being said, it's gutsy, edgy, glamorous and bitchy, and you can't help falling in love with these vulnerable, but demanding Upper East Siders!
