Eleven-year-old Sophia Grace Brownlee and her 7-year-old cousin Rosie McClelland became an overnight sensation after appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres show. Sophia is the more outgoing of the two, rapping and singing and dancing with Rosie supporting her along the way. They act like your typical girls, laughing and talking, and squealing a LOT. I recognized them as the British kids on Sam and Cat that get the last laugh on their babysitter.

In Sophia Grace & Rosie’s Royal Adventure, Sophia Grace and Rosie and head to Switzelvania with their handler, Phyllis Bundt (Amy Louise Wilson) on behalf of The Ellen DeGeneres Show to perform at the new queen’s coronation. As you can guess, things go wrong very quickly when they manage to get separated from Phyllis as soon as they get off of the plane. These two girls are very precocious and they don’t really see any need to find Phyllis. They know they are supposed to be at the castle, so they just go sneak in the castle and pretend that they belong. The thing is, there are three princesses, but only one of them is going to be crowned queen. No one knows which one the king is going to choose and the girls want to meet all of the princesses. The first two, Princess Imogen (Anna Skellern) and Princess Cordellia (Ema Pierson), aren’t very nice. They’re quite self-centered and egotistical. The third princess, Abigail (Margaret Clunie), is very nice and the girls want her to become the queen, even if she does prefer to wear superhero costumes. They’ll do what they can to make it happen.

While they’re dealing with the princesses, poor Phyllis is trying to get her life back from the woman who stole her luggage and took over her life. Really though, there’s not much about that part of the story. It’s more of a side thing to make the adults stuck watching the movie laugh a bit. I feel quite bad for Phyllis, but she might just come out of it all mostly unscathed!

The Blu-ray has a few special features. If you want to know all about Sophia Grace and Rosie’s absolute addiction to the color pink and more than you could ever want to know about the color pink, you will enjoy the special feature dedicated to pink. If you liked the girls on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, then you will quite enjoy "Favorite Moments from The Ellen DeGeneres Show." Personally, I liked "The Royal Music Jam," which went back over the songs from the movie. There are also Bloopers, if you didn’t get enough giggling over the course of the movie. The quality of the Blu-ray is perfect, as is expected. The sound is great as well, which is good since the music is the best part of the movie.

While I can’t say that Sophia Grace & Rosie’s Royal Adventure is the worst movie I’ve ever sat through, it is far from one of the best. The story is a rehash of old fairy tales complete with evil sisters and three wishes. It’s not one that I really want to sit through too many times, nor can I say that most children will. There are some funny times, but it’s just not enough to make a movie. I will say that Sophia Grace can really sing, especially for her age. I do think we’ll see this pair in more things. I just hope they’re a bit less predictable.
