Naruto and the rest of Squad Seven have a new mission, they must protect one of the greatest actesses of The Land of Fire, Yukie Fujikaze as her latest film wraps up. Why does this actress need protecting? It's because her character, Princess Gale, is really popular and the final scenes of the movie must be filmed in The Land of Snow, a somewhat hostile land.
It seems though, that both Yukie and Kakashi have a bit of history in this perpetually wintered area. What those histories are will be revealed before the end of the movie. What is important is that Yukie's arrival in The Land of Snow has sparked the interest of the Snow Ninja that have overthrown the previous monarchy and established a dictatorship. So, of course, Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi will have to face off against a few Snow Ninja (with their special Chakra Armor that makes Ninjitsu almost useless).
This movie also comes with a fun short called "Hidden Leaf Village Grand Sports Festival." This cartoon has many of the characters from the series competing in a series of Olympic style sports (with ninja twists) for the chance to have a week off. Unfortunately, for Squad Seven, Naruto is having some stomach issues and he spends his time between events trying to get to a restroom. This is a fun, lighthearted show that doesn't really fit anywhere in the series but, like a few of the shows that do fit in the timeline, offer a nice distraction.
Naruto The Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow is a movie for the fans. If you're the viewer that hasn't missed a show yet and can spout off the hand signs as fast as the characters can, then this movie is right up your alley. People not familiar with the show might be able to get a good sample of what Naruto is about with this movie, but it is mostly geared towards existing fans.
