The video starts with an introduction from Carmen, then she gets into teaching you the moves themselves. Once she's run through the first set, she then shows you the moves with "counts" to get you acclimated to doing the moves with a tempo of sorts. She then puts that group of moves together with music. Then the cycle starts again with a new set of moves. Finally, you'll do both sets of moves from the top. Wash, rinse, repeat with the rest of the groups of moves until you have learned all of the groups of moves to form one 5-6 minute aerobic dance routine.
Some of the moves were relatively easier, but then others weren't. Or at least they didn't seem as easy to pick up, and the quick run-through wasn't even time for me to "get it" and feel like I was doing the moves properly. To be honest, some of them didn't make me feel sexy at all, but more like a fish flopping around. Sadly, the goal of Carmen's videos is to get you in shape while teaching you some smokin' moves to make you feel sexier. This tape just didn't do it.
Special features include an interview with Allie Cohen, one of Carmen's backup dancers, Jennifer Galardi, the fitness choreographer and consultant that actually created the moves found in the video, and Lesley Wolff, the writer for the video. A making-of featurette is also included. I was hoping for an interview with Carmen, personally, because she seems to have so much fun making these videos that I'd like to hear her talk about her experiences, but alas, no.
Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease: Vegas Strip isn't terrible, it's just disappointing when compared with Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease: In The Bedroom, which is a much better workout. The moves feel more "cheerleader" than anything else and the only thing that shouts Vegas are the shots of the MGM Grand in the credits. If you want to check it out, rent it. I suggest In The Bedroom if you want to purchase an exercise video.
