Following the events of his FBI agent wife being killed by a right-wing group, college professor Michael Faraday (Jeff Bridges) becomes obsessed and consumed with teaching a terrorism class. Oliver and Cheryl Lang (Tim Robbins and Joan Cusack) are the new neighbors across the street. The two households meet after a freak accident where Faraday saves their son. The families start getting to know one another, which leads to Faraday becoming suspicious that they too, are a part of a terrorism group. Truly, Arlington Road is a dark and twisted thriller into one of the most overlooked topics of today: do you know who is living next door to you?

The ensemble cast of Bridges, Robbins and Cusack do an unbelievable job in portraying what could go wrong in the All-American neighborhood. Director Mark Pellington is phenomenal by keeping Arlington Road very dark while the audience is on the edge of their seat. The supporting cast of Hope Davis and Robert Gossett play the roles of the 'I want to believe you, but I think you're crazy' to Faraday brilliantly. The great thing about this film is that you expect the cast and the writing to take you one way, only to have it go the complete opposite. Throughout the entire length of the show, you will be on edge to find out who the good guys are and aren't.

Besides the movie itself, Arlington Road contains some great features on DVD. Pellington and Bridges give commentary throughout the entire movie, which is very interesting to hear about why a scene would turn out the way it did, and so forth. There is also a "Making-Of" Featurette, which talks about where they shot the film, and why. The other highlight of this section is the Alternate ending. Pellington talks about why he chose not to use it, but then shows it as if the film actually ended that way. I liked the idea behind the second ending, but I'm glad they didn't use it in the film.

Arlington Road will keep you biting your nails for days, and make you suspicious of who lives next door. If you haven't seen the movie yet, hesitate no longer, and get this movie for your DVD collection.
