Napoleon Dynamite is the story about a high school kid named (you guessed it) Napoleon Dynamite. Napoleon is a class nerd and is constantly picked on by the bullies and jocks of his high school. Most of his time is spent drawing mythical creatures and fighting with his 'older' brother, Kip. When Pedro moves to town and meets Napoleon, the two outcasts bond instantly. As the race for class president comes up, the dynamic duo, with the help of their friend, Deb, start a bid to make Pedro the new class president. If they want to beat the popular snob, Summer, they will need all the skills they can muster.

Napoleon Dynamite is a funny, original movie from the time it starts, until the extra scenes after the credits roll. Everything in Napoleon Dynamite feels fresh and new. The actors are mostly unknown, but hold their own throughout the film. In a time where sequels are king and the latest action blockbuster can cost in the millions of dollars, Napoleon Dynamite is a breath of fresh air in a city filled with smoke.

The DVD itself is pretty basic. It contains your usual deleted scenes and a gallery, plus a 'making-of' featurette. There is also an audio commentary track featuring the director, co-writer/producer, and several of the actors.

Napoleon Dynamite is the type of film that will create a cult following of people who understand the film, like Office Space did before it. There is just a resonance between the lives of Napoleon and his friends to that of many other people that adds a touch of humanity to this film. Even though it's a comedy, there are real issues that are solved in the film, which make it all the more special to some people.

If you haven't seen it yet, I recommend picking it up and giving it a try. Even if you don't want to buy it, I recommend that everyone watch this movie at least once. I have a feeling that once you watch it, you will want to watch it over and over again.
