When we last left the series, Gaara has been taken over by his inner-demon, Shukaku, and Naruto has summoned Gamabunta, but when Gamabunta encourages Naruto to transform them into something that can do more damage, they emerge as The Nine-Tailed Fox. Meanwhile, The Third Hokage has summoned a death seal and has a hold on Orochimaru's soul. The one consequence to this Jutsu is that it will trap both Orochimaru's and Sarutobi's soul forever. Unfortunately, the result of this fight doesn't yield in Orochimaru's death, just the loss of any ability to control his arms and thus his Jutsu.
With the invasion over, Konoha starts to recover over the loss of its leader and asks Jiraiya to replace him as the Fifth Hokage. When he refuses, he offers to search for his fellow Sannin, Lady Tsunade. Jiraiya picks up Naruto (with the promise of a new Jutsu) and the two begin their search. As the two leave though, another pair enters the village, Itachi Uchiha (Sasuke's brother) and an associate of his. The two are apparently looking for Naruto, or more specifically, the demon-fox within him, but when the leading fighters of the village can't seem to stop them, they simply leave looking for their prey. Needless to say, when Sasuke learns that his brother was in town, he rushes after them.
Eentualyy Jiraiya, Naruto and Sasuke face off against Itachi and Kisame in a hotel, but when Jiraiya successfully scares off the villains, Sasuke is rushed back to the village for hospitalization and Naruto continues to help The Toad Sage on his search for the next Hokage.
Most of what's left in Uncut Box Set 7 focuses on Naruto's new training. Jiraiya starts to teach our young hero a new powerful move called Rasengan, a massive, tight-woven spinning fury of chakra. When the pair meet up with Tsunade, they learn that Orochimaru has also approached her in order to have his arms revived. Tsunade is then faced with a terrible choice - do the right thing and deny Orochimaru and become Hokage, or help Orochimaru in the hopes that he can bring back her dead loved ones. Exactly what Tsunade's choice is doesn't show up until the next boxed set, but let's just say this is all leading up to a massive fight between all three Sannin, and maybe Naruto will be able to pull off this incredible difficult Jutsu that has only been mastered by Jiraiya and The Fourth Hokage himself.
